Self-styled blue-collar burger joint Tilt (motto: "handcrafted food, built for the American workforce") could hardly be more off the beaten path. You'll find it amid the shipping yards and loading docks of North Portland's industrial Swan Island. Owner Octavian Jurj recently announced plans to open a second location this summer in the Pearl District, which looks to serve the same decent, ambitious (if not always successful) burgers and sandwiches -- plus some absolutely killer fries -- in a decidedly less blue-collar neighborhood.
