The Far Bar

Far Bar is located at 347 East First Street in the historic Chop Suey building. One of the oldest standing buildings in Los Angeles, the Far East Chop Suey Café was the heart of Little Tokyo for many years as it hosted parties, family gatherings, and community events. As a result of the devastating 1994 Northridge Earthquake, the Far East Café was forced to close its doors. A major movement for historical renovations in Los Angeles helped restore the building breathing new life into the area. In late 2005 Far Bar opened its doors to the public. Far Bar brings a contemporary attitude to Little Tokyo, while still preserving the charm of its past.
