Gunbarrel Tavern & Eatery is the newest addition to the Heavenly Village on the south shore of Lake Tahoe. With a classic old Tahoe feel featuring hardwood flooring, a custom planed-wood bar and rusted metal accents, Gunbarrel Tavern prides itself on fresh, seasonal offerings and a welcoming atmosphere. Gunbarrel is named in honor of the famed double-black-diamond run at Heavenly Mountain Resort, which hosts the Gunbarrel 25 each spring. Gunbarrel Tavern is the second mountainside offering from Lake Tahoe local Alex Cox, owner of 22 Bistro and Bar in the Village at Squaw Valley. The menu at Gunbarrel Tavern offers diners classic favorites and seasonal features hand selected by celebrated Executive Chef Brad Shapiro. Considered new American cuisine, Gunbarrel Tavern serves up classic cuisine with a unique twist such as the Tuna Tower, an ahi poke-style appetizer paired with fresh avocado, scallions, onion and mango piled high on a tri-level tower of wonton chips. Other signature items include the crispy pork belly appetizer, kobe beef sliders, brie grilled cheese and the PBR beer can chicken. Situated on the state line between Nevada and California along Highway 50, Gunbarrel Tavern is just a short walk from the bustling gaming and nightlife offered at casino resorts such as Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Harvey’s Lake Tahoe, the Horizon Casino Resort and Mont Bleu Resort, Casino & Spa.
